mr jones and me...

spot the difference

you gotta love a good walk in the park. I find nothing more exciting than a trip down the braids, I get so excited when the car takes a turn into the wee road. What made it even better this sunday was having jake jones for company. I jumped out of the car and couldn't believe my nose - mr jones had come all the way from livingstone for walkies :-)

last time i saw jakey he was a bit tired because he'd tried to breathe in a stick
(not to be recommended) and had to have emergency surgery to get it removed. Anyway - you can read about it on his blog. Lets just say he gave me a run for my money this time round.
i really like going for walks with Jake - I wish he could be my boyfriend - but Ali and Jamie say no. It's so unfair they just dont understand. I hope its not too long till I get to see him again.

sympathy please!

the jimmie choo of the doggie world - drip-bag wellies

sorry for not being online for a while - it's pretty hard to type with my paw in a stookie. I had to have another toenail removed and have only just got my bandages off.
I'm so glad i no longer have to wear the silly red stookie but I do miss the rather fetching welly that my vet made out of an old saline solution bag. If it wasnae for my wellies where would I be?
Anyway I have lived to tell the tale and even managed to get down the braids for walkies with Jake this afternoon. More on that later... I'm off for a wee lie down to rest my weary paws.

puppy power

sorry my devoted fans - it has been a while since ive put paw to keyboard. It has been a good summer all in all. The highlights being another trip in the car with all the stuff up to the place with the garden and the rabbits. I gt to run about daft for 2 weeks. still im not as young as i used to be and I have to admit to spending time just lying about the house.
I have however been a little unwell - not due to the over consumption of chocolate rabbits or cod-liver oil tablets as some of you may have guessed - but due to an operation :-( I had a growth on my toe which needed removed. Its at times like this my life flashes before my eyes and i wish i had more than one - lucky cats. Still i survived the ordeal and despite the lack of get well cards I have recovered considerably well - well enough to go for a big walk if anyone of you is up for it?

scary babies

the scariest thing happened this weekend. the girl that looks like jamie brought this really loud siren thing round. it made so much noise and anytime i went close everyone shouted at me. apparently its called a bay-bee or M-ah or something but i tell you it was really scary and they obviously liked it more than me :-( I spent most of the weekend sitting in the corner hiding under a chair!

i did get to eat some of her food though which was kinda minging - poor thing! i'll stick to eating rabbits and pants! Here's a picture of me trying some of M-ah's food (just look at that tongue action!).

all i can say is i hope we dont get on of those things - cos I like being centre of attention!

It's a dogs life

I heard daddy say the other day that he sometimes wished he was me and that I had an easy life. He kept on going on about how I've got no worries, and that I get fed and kept warm, no bills to pay, get pampered blah blah blah blah blah.

I thought it right that I set the record straight.

Firstly, I get fed once a day. Now.... some say that's enough, but let me tell you I could eat a cow if you managed to get it in my bowl! Instead I have to scavenge scraps and climb up on the counter top just to get me through the day till dinner time. AND... sometimes daddy doesn't even leave things out on the counter and I have to bust my way into the bedroom and eat the tastiest thing around, which unfortunately tends to be mummy's pants!!! How would you like that daddy?!??! And as for mummy... she gives me one skimpy biscuit and then HIDES the rest!! YOU EVIL WOMAN...THAT'S WHY I SIT ON YOUR FACE AND STEAL YOUR COVERS!!!

Secondly, the only way I have of cleaning my privates is by licking them.

Thirdly, I have to shit in front of people... sometimes complete strangers.

Fourth, I get left on my own most of the day, and I still can't figure out how to work the X-box. O for opposable thumbs!

Should I go on? I think you get the picture. Mummy and Daddy think I eat knickers and toothbrushes because I'm bored.... I'm just getting even.

walkies

i went for a proper walk today. we went down the braids - a park near our den. it has lots of muddy paths and big trees and a river. i got to chase some birds and ducks and a tennis ball. i must say i am slightly concerned with this bird flu thats going round. what if i ever manage to actually catch a bird?? will i get flu? its enough to make a grown dog think twice about chasing birds.
i also met lots of other dogs - some of my distant relatives who have obviously been eating pies and some rathe uncuth dogs that insisted on smelling my bottom. I mean - what is the deal with that? Don't they know what a jobby smells like already??
The funiest part was watching Ali fall in the river trying get the tennis ball :-) I managed not to laugh out loud at the time but Ive been sniggering behind her back ever since.
i'm just off to get a cup of tea.
wish you meaty bones

it's been a while

well my lovelies,

it has indeed been a while since i last blogged. you must have missed my inspirational musings. i apologise but my owners have been using up all my energy. the kids upstairs have my nerves frayed - you have to hate school holidays!
still i try and maintain a balanced view point and bark at everyone who makes a noise in the stair - no descrimination in this dog!
i also managed to bag myself one of those chocolate bunnies this week mmmmm... it was worth every word that ali shouted at me, it was even worth being banned from the living room for most of the day... i hope she buys a replacement :-)

jamie has been continuing to make noises with the large yellow string thing. i find it mildly relaxing and at least i know he's not going to abandon me for the night but id rather go to the braids for a big run to chase some real rabbits!

till we meet again
